It’s no secret that beauty editors receive a lot of product to consider for editorial coverage. Our drawers, desks, closets, and entire homes are often overflowing with product — so much so that we don’t have any space to put it away. With so many products at our fingertips, we constantly balance wanting to try out every new toy with sticking to the things that we’re currently obsessing over. So it begs the question, what products do we actually finish? Here are our April 2019 beauty empties.
Every month, the editorial team of Off The Shelf is rounding up every single beauty product they finished that month. Whether it’s makeup, haircare, skincare, fragrance, or nail polish, it’s difficult to actually go through every single bit of a product, especially when we’re always trying new things. So, it means a lot — and is arguably pretty impressive — when we’re able to go through a product in its entirety.
If you’re curious about what products beauty editors are currently loving enough to finish, check back with us on the last Wednesday every month for our empties roundup. While you’re at it, we’d love to hear what you finished this month, too. Sound off in the comments below.

Function Of Beauty Shampoo
Nothing can make you feel more pampered than a shampoo that is completely customized for your hair, which is one of the many reasons Kristin, our Editorial Director, loves it so much. In April, she finally reached the bottom of the bottle of her customized purple shampoo. Along with her other “hair goals” — like hydration, damage repair, and shine — she selected the “reduce brassiness” option in the quiz to get the purple formulation. Much like other purple shampoos, this one helps keep lightened hair bright, but unlike the others, this one is totally customized. No wonder she went through the bottle so fast.

Glowy skin is always in, and there are few products that are better for making that happen than Tatcha’s Luminous Dewy Skin Mist. This fine, milky spray contains 20 percent botanical oils and humectants that leave skin looking plump, fresh, and glossy — but never greasy or oily. You only need two or three spritzes to cover your whole face, so one full-sized bottle can last a long time.

Ouai Texturizing Hair Spray
When you have hair as flat and straight as Kristin does, any product that gives it a little extra life is always welcome. Ouai’s Texturizing Hair Spray is the perfect mix of a dry shampoo and hair spray to add volume and hold to the hair. With as much as Kristin travels, this is the perfect 2-in-1 product to throw in a bag. It works as a hairspray for hold, and adds volume like a mousse or volumizing spray.

Dr. Roebuck’s Tama Healing Mask
Everyone who’s anyone in the beauty world has fallen head over heels for Australian clean skincare brand Dr. Roebuck’s, which just recently launched at Sephora. Glamglow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer
Clearly our editors can’t get enough glowy skin this month. Glamglow’s Glowstarter moisturizer comes in three shades for light, medium, and deep skin tones to give skin that perfectly airbrushed dew. You can use this moisturizer on its own on no makeup days, or underneath makeup for a little extra boost. It also works well as a body highlighter — Kristin slathered this all over herself during Coachella.
