The Cannes Film Festival red carpet is one that beauty lovers look forward to every year. Not only are the dresses beautifully dreamy, but the beauty looks never fail to slay. Celebs, models, and even influencers flock to the French festival to show off on the glamorous carpet. Though subtle looks are currently trending, Cannes attendees and their glam squads decided to take their hair and makeup to the next level, and I couldn’t be more here for it. Here are some of my favorite Cannes 2019 beauty looks that I’m using as inspiration for my next big events.

From glossy eyelids to bouncy waves and everything in between, the glam squads absolutely did not hold back. The Cannes 2019 beauty looks were both daring and subtle, easily recreated but still heavily impactful. Today’s red carpet woman is not only timelessly beautiful, but also effortless and accessible. Cannes Film Festival’s carpet exemplifies this in the most authentic sense. Everyone from movie stars like Elle Fanning and Priyanka Chopra, to supermodels like Bella Hadid and Taylor Hill, to influencers like Desi Perkins and Camila Coelho all showed up at Cannes ready to work it out.

Here are just a few of my favorite Cannes 2019 beauty looks. I know that I speak for every other beauty lover when I say that I’m ready for a step-by-step of all of these looks so I can try them on myself.

Selena Gomez’s Smudged Out Wing, Glossy Lids, & Red Lip

Makeup artist Hung Vanngo created this beautiful glossy eyelid cat-eye on Selena Gomez. Marissa Marino styled Selena’s hair in a simple chignon to allow the dramatic makeup look to (literally) shine. Hung kept Selena’s complexion very simple with little contouring or highlight. For the eyes, he washed a champagne shimmer shadow all across her lids and smudged out a black winged liner to elongate her eye shape. To finish, he used a bright red satin lipstick to perfectly shape her lips.

Desi Perkins’ Romantically Long Finger Waves

Though influencers are still new to attending major red carpets like Cannes, they definitely don’t mess around when they do. Desi Perkins nailed this romantic look, courtesy of Patrick Ta and Glen Coco. She attended the festival with Dior, so it only made sense that her hair and makeup reflected the timelessness and classic beauty of the Dior girl. Patrick kept her makeup glowy and neutral (which is very on-brand for her). Glen went all-out with beautiful waist-length finger waves to make her glam more dramatic.

Taylor Hill’s Glossy Cerulean Smokey Eye

Yet another killer makeup look from Patrick Ta. To help the major makeup moment stand out, Danielle Priano kept Taylor Hill‘s hair loose and simple. She pulled it back into a ponytail with her bangs framing her face. Like Desi’s makeup, Patrick went for glowy, dewy skin and nude lips to make her eyes the standout. He packed a cerulean shadow onto the outer corner of her eyes and smudged it along both lash lines. The inner part of her eyelids were covered in a clear gloss, and a lighter sky blue was placed right in her crease line to add a little dimension.

Priyanka Chopra’s Metallic Turquoise Eyeliner & Mauve Lip

Though Priyanka Chopra has always been a red carpet standout, her recent looks have seriously had me swooning. This makeup moment from Cannes shows that she’s not quite ready to let go of standout eyeliner after her white liner moment at the Met Gala, and I’m totally here for it. This beautiful metallic turquoise eyeliner and mauve satin lipstick look was created by Pati Dubroff. Danielle Priano styled her chic, slick updo to complement the high neckline of her dress.

Bella Hadid’s ’90s-Inspired Curly Updo

With jelly sandals and fanny packs all the rage in both streetwear and high fashion, the ’90s are back in a big way. Bella Hadid‘s curly, prom-like updo by Amanda Lee is seriously reminiscent of red carpet looks from the ’90s. Hung Vanngo further amplified the vibes with a heavy contour and blown-out, grungey smokey eye.

Deepika Padukone’s Dramatic Cleopatra Cat-Eye & Towering Ponytail

Black winged eyeliner is always on the red carpet, but Deepika Padukone‘s look created by L’Oreal’s makeup team takes it to the next level. Rather than start at the upper lash line, the wing extended from her bottom lash line out toward the tail of her eyebrow. The inner corner of her eye was also elongated with a wing of its own to give her eyes a Cleopatra-esque quality, which was further emphasized by her epic ponytail. Her hair was wrapped around the base of the ponytail to make the style extra tall, and her long hair length made it even more dramatic.

Camila Coelho’s Glossy Skin & Subtle Bronze Wing

I’m always up for a beautifully-done nude glam, and Camila Coelho‘s squad totally nailed it. Amanda Lee smoothed her hair back into a high, tight bun which made her face look even more snatched. Patrick Ta, once again, gave her wet glowy skin and a brown shimmery smokey eye. To add a little bit of oomph to her already dramatic eyes, Patrick used a shimmery bronze eyeliner to give her a tiny — but sharp — wing.

Elle Fanning’s Dreamy Braided & Flowered Chignon

Elle Fanning is always a standout on the red carpet, and her look for the second night of Cannes was no different. Jenda Alcorn created a girly, romantic braided bun ornamented with little daisies, giving her an ethereal woodland fairy vibe. Erin Ayanian Monroe kept Elle’s makeup extremely simple. Her brows were the only bold part of her face, while everything else was kept pink and soft, including her light blush and blotted lipstick.
