The first weekend of Coachella 2019 is officially over, which means we have just a few days to study the hottest looks in preparation for Weekend 2. Of course, not everyone jet-sets off Coachella Valley this weekend, but that doesn’t mean they can’t partake in festival fashion, right? Most people are still interested in keeping up with the trends regardless, myself included. I may not be at every event, but I’ll still be rocking Coachella style trends 2019 IRL and on my Instagram. If you want to do the same, you’re in luck, because I’ve rounded up the top festival style trends to help you kill it on and off the ‘Gram. In addition to being the hottest pieces for spring 2019, they’ll last you well into summertime, too. That said, it’s worth picking up a few new things to ensure your look is on point.
What’s trending this year? Above all, you want to ensure your style makes a statement. The bolder the better. That said, think animal prints, vibrant neons, and sunset oranges, paired with every texture under the sun, from beads to woven leathers. So, throw on some cowboy boots, a puka shell necklace, and maybe a barrette or two, and get ready to be showered with compliments. You might get a few “Where’d you buy that?” asks, too. These vivacious trends may seem complicated, but shopping the right pieces couldn’t be simpler. Start spring cleaning last year’s accessories and read on for some must-haves to consider this season.
Trendsetters have been tying scarves around their faces to product from the Coachella Valley dust for years now. In 2019, scarves are as fashionable as they are utilitarian. Tie up a scarf in your hair for a boho vibe, or opt for a shirt that mimics the look of one expertly tied — if you’re crafty enough, a similar style can be DIY’d with a scarf you already own. Jordyn Woods wore this exact top and it was a hit.

Gone are the years during which we pretended itty-bitty sandals could withstand the grounds at Coachella. Pretty much everyone had on a good pair of boots at Weekend One. A hefty shoe is needed to avoid stepped-on toes and blisters, and cowboy boots are as cool as ever. Opt for an unexpected hue to really stand out.
Don’t worry, fanny packs are still in (and convenient AF), but bags with a little more interest are also on the rise. Beaded purses are part jewelry, part carryall, and a clear version plays up the transparent trend as well.

To be fair, when it comes to animal prints this year, anything goes. Cow print, leopard, and zebra will no doubt be present, but snakeskin is the trend to rule them all. If you don’t see yourself in a head-to-toe print, try working it in with accessories, like a patterned belt paired with a maxi dress or denim cutoffs.
Be it a hot neon, a desert-appropriate copper, or even a PSL-reminiscent tone, orange was everywhere at Coachella. Kasey Musgraves, H.E.R., and tons of other celebs and festival-goers played around with the shade, which is destined to be this summer’s version of millennial pink or slime green. This breezy number combines the trending hue with an easy wide-legged silhouette, to be paired with woven sandals, chunky sneakers, or those cowboy boots from earlier.

Celeb stylists Justine Marjan created the best Coachella hair this weekend, bar none. Rocky Barnes, Vanessa Morgan, and other beauties sported her DIY safety pin hair accessories, and looked so fab while doing so. If you want to get the look but don’t have time to get crafty, consider shopping Marjan’s collaboration with Kitsch. The oversized bedazzled barrette is ideal for pulling back some strands, especially if you’re a few days into the festival and haven’t had the time for a proper shampoo sesh. No judgements here!
Did you not obsess over Gigi Hadid’s oversized, tie dye fishing vest? What about Halsey’s cute cropped tie dye tee? Coachella has always given camp vibes, so you shouldn’t be surprised to see tie dye trending. Instead of digging up your old DIY tees, though, opt for something more structured to contrast the playful pattern. American Apparel’s brand new Rainbow Wash allows you to try out the trend on a classic pair of denim, ideal for a festival’s cooler nights.
If you haven’t seen a travel blogger share a detail shot of her latest puka shell pieces, are you even on Instagram? The seaside staples have been dubbed the perfect finishing touches for any and all festival looks this year, and the statement pieces can be worn again and again and still garner compliments every time. BTW, not to obsess over Gigi, but she wore the most perfect puka shell earring with that aforementioned tie dye vest.

During last year’s festival season, all our neutrals were crocheted, but this season a woven texture has taken over. From sandals to tote bags to sun hats, a woven accent will finish off any look with a natural touch, and a basic crossbody bag will go with just about anything.
Brights are back, baby, and they’ll really pop under the Coachella Valley sun. This swimsuit packs the perfect punch of neon coral, combined with trendy mesh paneling. Wear it alone to a poolside pre-party, then rock it as a bodysuit with some denim or a flowy skirt when it’s time to hit the festival grounds.

At an outdoor festival, a chic pair of sunnies is a must, so and finding a pair that also ensures high-quality UV protection is key. A colorful, patterned pick is versatile enough to match all your weekend outfits, and they double as the perfect statement piece for a good selfie.
