It’s no secret that beauty editors receive a lot of product to consider for editorial coverage. Our drawers, desks, closets, and entire homes are often overflowing with product — so much so that we don’t have any space to put it away. With so many products at our fingertips, we constantly balance wanting to try out every new toy with sticking to the things that we’re currently obsessing over. So it begs the question, what products do we actually finish? Here are our February 2019 beauty empties.
Every month, the editorial team of Off The Shelf is rounding up every single beauty product they finished that month. Whether it’s makeup, haircare, skincare, fragrance, or nail polish, it’s difficult to actually go through every single bit of a product, especially when we’re always trying new things. So, it means a lot — and is arguably pretty impressive — when we’re able to go through a product in its entirety.
If you’re curious about what products beauty editors are currently loving enough to finish, check back with us on the last Wednesday every month for our empties roundup. While you’re at it, we’d love to hear what you finished this month, too. Sound off in the comments below.

Blaq Hydrogel Eye Masks
If you’re looking for a product to give your under eyes a serious pick me up at any time of day, these are the eye patches for you. These gel charcoal eye patches are the perfect all-in-one product. They contain activated charcoal to absorb excess oil and the hyaluronic acid hydrates tired under eyes. R+Co Death Valley Dry Shampoo
If you’re looking for the truly perfect dry shampoo that gives you volume and absorbs oil, but doesn’t make your hair feel stiff or chalky, this is it. Tatcha Indigo Body Butter
Body lotion is something that you don’t often think of splurging on, but we think that this one from Tatcha is worth the coin. It deeply hydrates the skin without stickiness or greasiness, and makes the skin look luminous from the inside out. It contains a concentrated botanical extract made from indigo plants to soothe and calm sensitive skin, and the other active ingredients help promote the skin’s natural healing abilities. It’s a luxurious lotion for your whole body that will make you feel baby-soft from head to toe.

Milk Makeup Kush Lip Balm
It’s no secret that Milk’s Kush line is killing it, and this lip balm is no different. The balm is deeply hydrating soothing — due to the hemp cannabis oil — and feels weightless on the lips. It’s almost too easy to go through this quickly because of how comfortably it sits on the lips. The balm also protects your lips against free radicals and environmental stressors. It’s a great everyday (or every hour) lip balm that you can take with you everywhere.

Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment
If you’re looking for the one product that will make almost all of your skin issues go away, this is probably it. Good Genes is truly an all-in-one treatment. The lactic acid gently — and almost unnoticeably — exfoliates to reveal a fresh layer of healthy skin. The licorice reduces the appearance of hyperpigmentation, lemongrass boosts your skin’s radiance, and aloe soothes and calms the skin. It’s a serum that works for all skin tones and makes a huge difference in the effectiveness of the rest of your regimen.
Generation Clay Detoxifying Charcoal Clay Mask
Whether you’re in need of a full deep cleansing of the skin or just need some spot treatments hear and there, this mask is here to pull all of the gunk out of your pores. Our Editor In Chief, Andreas Abellana, uses this as a spot treatment at least twice a week to take care of clogged skin, and he notes that one jar lasts him at least two months.
Skyn Iceland Micellar Cleansing Water
Micellar water is definitely having a moment, and though they all essentially do the same thing, this one feels extremely refreshing on the skin. What we love about it most is the packaging. While many micellar waters come in giant squeezy bottles that can lead to spills, Skyn Iceland easily solved this problem with the no-mess dispenser. This formula is super mild, causes no irritation, and effortlessly removes dirt and oil from the skin.
Tatcha Indigo Cream
For people with extremely dry skin looking for a night cream-quality daytime moisturizer, look no further than Tatcha’s Indigo Cream. The cream is very similar to the Body Butter mentioned above, incorporating ingredients like indigo and oatmeal to soothe and hydrate the skin. It has even been granted a stamp of approval from the National Eczema Association. Indigo Cream works for both daytime and nighttime, and provides moisture that lasts all day and night without reapplication.

Nudestix Tinted Blur Stick
If you’re looking for a makeup base that can replace your normal tinted moisturizers and BB or CC creams, you should definitely try this out. Nudestix has created a beautiful “your skin but better” product that fills the roles of primer, tinted moisturizer, and blur stick all in one. It contains coco and green tea emollients that are noncomodegenic, but still leave a dewy, demi-matte finish on the skin. Our Editorial Director, Kristin Corpuz, absolutely swears by this product and never travels without it.

Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado
This just might be the eye cream that actually makes you believe in eye creams. The tiniest bit of this underneath the eyes instantly brightens any eye bags that might be peeking through. It works as a great primer for under eye concealer, and it layers well with other skincare products. The best part of this eye cream is how comfortably it sits on the skin — we’d probably slather this all over the skin as a moisturizer if we could. Plus, the mini jar can actually last you a long time, so you don’t have to drop the money on the big size.
Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream
Putting this cream all over our bodies makes us feel like tall, beautiful Brazilian models. The scent is a warm and spicy blend, and the formula not only hydrates, but also helps tighten and smooth the skin. The mini size is the perfect travel companion, so you don’t have to bring along a giant jar. It’s an amazing body lotion that feels luxurious on the skin.
Kate Somerville EradiKate Daily Cleanser Acne Treatment
For people with acne-prone skin, there are few daily cleansers that work as well as this one does. It is medicated to help get rid of even the peskiest of breakouts, but it never feels drying on the skin. It also helps reduce oiliness and minimizes the appearance of pores. The whipped texture gently foams up while you cleanse, so it feels really gentle and works well on any sensitive skin types.
Glossier Balm Dotcalm In Cherry
Glossier’s Balm Dotcalm has a cult-like following for a reason. It is a great all-purpose skin salve that can work on any part of the skin, and the subtle tints also allow the product to double as a makeup product as well. It seals in moisture and makes skin look and feel dewy and fresh.
