It’s no secret that beauty editors receive a lot of product to consider for editorial coverage. Our drawers, desks, closets, and entire homes are often overflowing with product — so much so that we don’t have any space to put it away. With so many products at our fingertips, we constantly balance wanting to try out every new toy with sticking to the things that we’re currently obsessing over. So it begs the question, what products do we actually finish? Here are our March 2019 beauty empties.
Every month, the editorial team of Off The Shelf is rounding up every single beauty product they finished that month. Whether it’s makeup, haircare, skincare, fragrance, or nail polish, it’s difficult to actually go through every single bit of a product, especially when we’re always trying new things. So, it means a lot — and is arguably pretty impressive — when we’re able to go through a product in its entirety.
If you’re curious about what products beauty editors are currently loving enough to finish, check back with us on the last Wednesday every month for our empties roundup. While you’re at it, we’d love to hear what you finished this month, too. Sound off in the comments below.
Here are all of our March 2019 beauty empties.
Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream
If you’re looking for an all-around moisturizer that’s lightweight enough for daytime use, but powerful enough to use as a night cream, this is it. The cream works to hold in moisture while simultaneously blocking out environmental pollution and stressors. It works well for people with normal to very dry skin types, and is also compatible with sensitive skin.

Proven Skincare Personalized Anti-Pollution SPF 30
SPF is an absolute must in any daytime skincare routine. While there are plenty on the market that are fantastic, nothing really beats a formula that’s completely customized to your skin type. Our Editorial Director, Kristin, swears by this formula so much so that she finished it in just a few months. You can buy it in a full set that includes a personalized cleanser and night cream, or you can purchase it on its own.

Blaq Activated Charcoal Whitening Toothpaste
Activated charcoal has a variety of benefits, including detoxifying and purifying. But when it’s applied on your teeth, it acts as a whitening agent. This whitening toothpaste doesn’t break the bank, and has a minty flavor so it tastes good, too.
Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Jelly Sheet Mask
Glow Recipe is known for making products that give your skin a healthy-looking, well, glow, and this clear jelly sheet mask is no different. It goes on almost completely transparent, so that it’s basically undetectable (which makes it the perfect in-flight sheet mask.) It has a light watermelon scent reminiscent of Bubblicious bubble gum — in the best way possible — and makes your skin feel refreshed after a long day or flight.
Perricone MD Face Finishing & Firming Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30
It’s no secret that this is one of Kristin’s favorite products. (She probably finishes at least two of these a year, if not more.) It’s a tinted moisturizer that is more moisturizer than tint. It has almost no coverage, but just gives skin an even, all-over glow that blends in seamlessly with any skin tone. It also has SPF in it to protect the skin, and it’s deeply moisturizing, even under makeup through a long day.
Ouai Hair & Body Shine Mist
Dre, our Editor In Chief, bought this by accident but has already finished it in the month and half since its launch in February this year. According to him, it’s the best new product that gives you a just-got-back-from-vacay glow from head to toe. He even loves the smell so much that he uses it to deodorize his hotel room when he’s traveling.

Nudestix Magnetic Matte Eye Color in Terra
Cream eyeshadow bases have been making a huge comeback recently, and there are really no better formulas than the Nudestix magnetic eye colors. They come in matte and shimmer finishes so you can perfect any kind of look. Terra is a beautiful neutral terra cotta shade that doesn’t pull too warm or cool, so you can use it as a transition color for any eye look, as a neutral base on medium skin tones, or as a wash of color all over the lid.
Dr. Jart+ Hydration Lover Rubber Mask
These Dr. Jart+ rubber sheet masks definitely run on the pricier side for individual masks, but they’re definitely worth the investment. The two-step application process — first a gel ampoule is applied, then the two-piece rubber mask is placed over it to seal in the serum — ensures deep and long-lasting hydration of the skin. The rubber leaves skin feeling baby soft, and it also has a cooling effect to soothe tired skin.
Bite Beauty Customized Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Basic
Bite Beauty is known for their signature Amuse Bouche lipstick bullets, and they have jumped on the customization bandwagon to allow customers to create their own personalized shade. For $75 per lipstick, you can go into any of their Bite Beauty Lip Labs and create your own customized shade. Kristin created a pink/brown nude that perfectly complemented her tan, yellowy-olive skin tone, and finished the bullet in just five months.
Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Sheet Mask
Our editors have been traveling a lot this month, so sheet masks have been a necessity. The whole Tatcha Luminous Dewy line is perfect for getting that “glowing from within” look. Though a lot of those products work incrementally over time, these sheet masks give you that effect instantaneously. They’re also very hydrating and even have enough leftover serum inside for you to use as the first step in your skincare routine.
